One fee, paid by the tenant, shown before payment
DepositSafe charges the tenant a service fee of 4% of the deposit. Landlords pay nothing. There is no setup fee, no monthly fee and no other charge from DepositSafe.
What you pay
| Deposit | Service fee (4%) | Total charged to the tenant's card | Reaches the landlord |
|---|---|---|---|
| €800 | €32 | €832 | €800 |
| €1,200 | €48 | €1,248 | €1,200 |
| €1,600 | €64 | €1,664 | €1,600 |

The fee is added to the deposit and charged in a single card payment. The exact amount is shown before the tenant pays. The deposit itself is never reduced: the landlord receives it in full.

Refunds and cancelling
A consumer can cancel within 14 days of paying. If you cancel while the deposit is still held, the deposit and the service fee are refunded to the card you paid with.
Once the deposit has been released to the landlord or refunded to you, the service is complete and the fee is not refundable. This includes a deposit returned to you after a problem was reported. The terms of service set this out in full.
